Topic: Study Skills

Kindergarten: Students will learn about the importance of listening and paying attention.  Students will complete a listening activity.

1st Grade: Students will learn about using their senses to help us learn and focus.

2nd Grade: Students will learn about doing their best.

Topic: Goal Setting

Students in K-2 will all learn about goals.  Topics will include how to set goals as well as why we should set goals for ourselves.

Weeks of December 1-5 and 8-12

Topic: Creativity

Students will explore creativity through the use of paint and will create an individual art piece.
K-Holiday Art using watercolor

1st-Drawing/painting using tempra paint

2nd-Use color and shape combinations to create art using tempra paint

Monday, November 10, 2014

Weeks of November 10-14 and and 17-21

Topic: Manners

Students will learn about and model ways of using good manners.  The focus for Kindergarten will be being polite, taking turns, raising hand to speak, etc.   The focus for first grade will be table manners.  The focus for second grade will be manners in public.

Weeks of October 27-31 and and Nov 3-7

Topic: Healthy Choices/Hygiene

Lessons in K-2nd grade will include healthy choices (eating right, exercise) and hygiene (bathing, washing hands).

Weeks of October 13-17 and and 20-24

Topic: Drug Free Week

Kindergarten:
Students in Kindergarten will learn about the importance of not taking medicine without adult supervision as well as identify adults it is safe to take medicine from (mom, dad, doctor, etc.)

1st and 2nd Grade:
Students in first and second grades will focus on being healthy and the dangers of putting harmful; things into their bodies.
